Crunchy Homemade Honey Almond Granola

In the mood for something sweet and crunchy for breakfast, lunch, or anytime of the day, but still healthy? Try this easy homemade granola that is loaded with healthy ingredients.

Ingredients:

6 cups of rolled oats*
5 cups of dried fruit (choose your own favorites)
This recipe consist of raisins, dried apple chips, and dried cranberries.
2 cups of sliced almonds
1 cup of pure liquid honey
3/4 cup of olive oil
2 tbsp of pure vanilla or vanilla flavor
2 tsp of nutmeg
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp of Chinese 5 spice

Preheat oven to 325 F.
  • Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Do not add dried fruit. (Make sure to use rolled oats* when making granola and not your standard quick oats. I usually buy rolled oats in bulk. Rolled oats can be found at most groceries or health food stores.)
  • Blend all liquid ingredients in a separate bowl - honey, vanilla, and oil. For this large recipe use two pans or one pan if you wish to cut recipe in half.
  • Pour the liquid evenly over the oats and almond mixture. Stir until coated.
  • Spread on lightly coated pans and bake for 25-30 minutes turning over granola every 10 minutes throughout baking.
  • Once cooled add your dried fruit and enjoy!!! I also added 1 cup of unsalted walnuts for added texture.
