Cut summertime grilling in half for chicken leg quarters.

Summertime grilling is fun, relaxing & romantic, but with the summertime heat, things could start to get real hot in your outdoor kitchen space. One quick and simple recipe idea is to grill split skinless chicken leg quarters. Here is my grilled split lemon peppered chicken leg quarters with fresh basil I grow on my back patio prepared this afternoon.

It took all of approximately 35 minutes to prepare and the out come according to my grandson, let's just say he was eating right off the grill literally. Split leg quarters grill juicy, so no need for basting.

*Approx. 4-6 split chicken leg quarters from grocery
* lemon pepper (according to taste)
*1-2 TBLS Fresh Basil
*1/4 cup low fat butter or olive oil to lightly rub before seasoning.

Makes about 4-6 servings
Can be paired with your favorite Pinot Noir

Note: You may want to remove bones before serving to small children due to the split leg quarters which creates sharp bones.

Enjoy your summer and good food ~
